Kyiv National University Of Construction and Architecture

General Information:

National university of Constructions and Architecture was founded on the bases of Kyiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture. But its history starts much earlier – from its foundation in 1930 on the bases of factory and communal construction branch of Kyiv Polytechnic and Architectural faculty of the Art Institute.

In 1939 Construction Institute became to People’s Commissariat of Construction and was given the name of Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute.

In 1976 Kyiv Civil-Engineering Institute was awarded with the Red Banner of Labour Order for its achievements in training of specialists and scientific researches and was names Kyiv Red Banner of Labor Order Civil Engineering Institute.

Since 1993 our educational institution was given a name of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.

From 1931 till 2005 KNUCA trained nearly 64 thousand specialists, including those for 80 foreign countries.

8 thousand students study at 6 main departments of the university where specialists of 23 specializations and 13 trends are trained.

The teaching process is carried out by 50 chairs and their highly qualified scientific and teaching staff numbering 630 scientists having the scientific degrees and ranks. Among them there are about 90 doctors of sciences, professors.

Among the graduates of the University there are 2 Heroes of the Soviet Union , more than 70 state prize laureates, Honored Scientists, T. Shevchenko prize laureates, 4 Heroes of Ukraine .

Foreign relations department

Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture is the leading educational establishment in Ukraine , which trains specialists for construction. Its prestige is based on successful combination of reach traditions having been formed for more than 70 years and introduction of new achievements by the scientists of the university. For the years of its existence the university trained 60 thousands specialists for 80 countries of the world.

The university collaborates with many educational establishments of the world. There is a preparatory department for foreign citizens wishing to study at the university. During 30 years of its existence it trained about 4 thousands foreigners for their future studies.

Foreign citizens must have the certificate of finishing the preparatory department if they wish to continue their studies in higher educational establishments or technical schools of Ukraine .

The preliminary training for foreign citizens is carried out at the Preparatory Department which was founded in 1967.

Preparatory department for foreign citizens:

Preparatory department for foreign citizens organizes training of foreigners having full secondary education for their entering higher educational establishments in the specialities of engineering, architecture, economy, medicine as well as foreigners having basic secondary education for their studding at technical schools.

Period of studies–10 months

Training is carried out according to contracts or nominates for study given by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the bases of international agreements.

Foreign citizens’ arrival is fulfilled on the basis of individual invitations given by the university after having concluded the contract.

Foreigners arriving for studies must submit the following documents:

  • notarized copy of the document of education with the list of subjects and marks;
  • medical certificate confirming absence of AIDS, malaria and including X-ray examination of chest;
  • questionnaire of special data;
  • notarized copy of birth certificate;
  • 16 photographs size 3×4 sm.
